8 Fun Carla Facts

1  I'm a native New Yorker, but I've lived in China and Australia.

2  As a result of #1, I'm very particular about Chinese food because I know what the real thing tastes like. Try Han Dynasty in the East Village.

3  Speaking of taste, travel and cooking are two of my passions.

4  I learned to cook from my mom, a food editor who also wrote several cookbooks and who loved to entertain.

5  My other passion is rock & roll. If you ask me about it, you better have a time to for me to give you the download on my faves. WFUV is my musical jam.

6  Like many people, I rock out during my subway commute. But unlike anyone else on the subway, I embroider cheeky messages on vintage linens.

7  All of that embroidery winds up in my Etsy shop. It's called My Needle Habit.

8  I've learned a lot as a micro-manufacturer. And I've had a lot of great clients. Except Courtney Love. She's a hot mess.
